MyNutrition

MyNutrition is an online tool that can help you make smart, healthy choices in Michigan's residential dining halls. Use it to:

  • Select well-balanced meals
  • See how your food choices measure up nutritionally
  • Screen dining hall offerings for allergens

Meal Planning

  1. To begin planning your meal, go to the MyNutrition page.
  2. Choose a dining hall.
  3. Select a station (Entrée, Salad Bar, Dessert, etc.), a day, and a meal.
  4. Check the menu item(s) of your choice.
  5. Use the drop-down box to select the number of portions, then click "Add Items."
  6. Don't forget to add condiments, beverages, breads, or any other food items you'll need to complete your meal. For example, if you've selected a salad, don't forget to go back and select Salad Bar from the list of stations in Step 3 to add an assortment of toppings or a salad dressing.
  7. As you add menu items to your meal, they will appear on the right side of the page under "MyMeal."

Tips

  • Review the posted menu before using MyNutrition. If you would like to plan ahead, menus for up to seven days in the future are available.
  • Main courses are the only stations that change on a daily basis, and as such are the only ones that require you to select a date and a meal.
  • You can also view nutrition information by hovering over an item with your mouse.

Nutritional Analysis

To get the total nutritional content of your selected meal, click "Meal Nutrition."

For a breakdown of each selected menu item, click "Item Nutrition." After reviewing the nutrition information, you may delete one or more items by unchecking the adjacent box. To add additional items, click the "Back" button on the page (not your browser), to view other options.

Allergy Screening

The most common allergies are listed in the lower right corner of each meal planning page. Check all of the allergens you would like to avoid, then click "Apply Filters." Any menu items containing those allergens will be deleted from your menu. For example, if you checked the allergen box for eggs, only menu items without eggs will appear on your list of menu choices.

Please Note: While you can use MyNutrition to help you manage food allergies in the dining halls, if are prone to severe allergic reactions, we encourage you to consult the Chef or Dining Manager for specific ingredient questions. They will be happy to assist you.

Preferences (Vegetarian, Vegan and MHealthy Selections)

Special icons are used to denote menu items that qualify as vegetarian, vegan, MHealthy, Halal, or gluten-free. You'll find a key at the top of each MyNutrition page. They are also listed in the lower right corner of each meal planning page. Once you make your choice, only menu items that meet the criteria will be displayed.

  • MHealthy = MHealthy
  • Vegan Option = Vegan
  • Vegatarian Option = Vegetarian
  • Halal Option = Halal
  • Gluten-Free Option = Gluten-Free
